History

One of the oldest healing shrines in Tamil Nadu, praised in the Thevaram hymns. Devotees have sought cures here for centuries; the sacred tank Siddhamirtham is believed to hold medicinal power.

The temple for Angaraka (Mars) — worshipped for relief from skin ailments, chronic disease, debt, land disputes, anger and delayed marriage.
